I can’t help but smile when I look at this adorable family. Being a parent is one of the hardest and sometimes thankless jobs there is, however, being able to showcase a family’s true emotion and love for one another in their environment is one of the most rewarding parts about my job. The the photographs we create together are a badge of countless hours of undocumented life. Rarely do things go as we like and children nearly never do exactly what we want them to. Thank God! It is those spontaneous moments we can’t control that make life so sweet and full of laughter. In our living room it reads, “If you surrender completely to the moments as they pass, you live more richly those moments.” A visual reminder to pause and embrace life around you; the spilled milk, the unfinished laundry, the pile of dishes, the alligator tears, and the sleepless nights because our life is filled with these imperfect moments. I have come to celebrate the small victories that come with being a father of five and I am thankful to document families in a similar season of life. It is such a privilege and a blessing I have come to cherish as a lifestyle photographer. Life is messy, but at the end of the day we wouldn’t change a thing.
I am so excited to share these family lifestyle portraits with you today. It isn’t every day you meet a family willing to try just about anything to help create a great photo. Flora is the newest addition to the family and she is such a sweet baby. The family’s dog didn’t want to miss an opportunity to be in front of the camera, however, I don’t think I could have posed a dog better myself. It was refreshing to see how very much in love T & S are after years of marriage.
Thanks for allowing us to capture a little piece of your life.
It truly has been sweet to capture families in their home this spring. I am reminded every day of how challenging parenthood can be, however, precious moments like these make all the chaos of motherhood/fatherhood and sibling rivalry worth it. I hope these serve as a great reminder of how incredible it feels to be someone’s mom or dad. One can look back on these days and think, “Where did the time go?” I find mysellf saying this all the time and the sad thing is time – feels to be speeding up with each passing year. My advice, hold on to your babies and photograph them often- they won’t be little for long. So grateful and honored to have shared the morning surrounded by love in light with this beatuful family. Part 1. More to come!
